Please mark your calendars and join us for a special screening of Paradise Abanadoned: Inside the Pacific Palisades Fire.
The Lincoln Media Foundation is proud to share a project we helped bring to life -- a powerful mini-documentary that demands to be seen, especially by us Californians. Project LAC Founding 2025 member Juan Suarez has not only championed the effort to create this by serving as an executive producer, but he actually came up with the idea itself!
This 20–30 minute film pulls back the curtain on what really happened during the Palisades Fire - not just the headlines or the official spin, but the second day. The day no one covered. The day an entire community was left behind.
For nearly a year, residents have demanded answers. In response, officials have offered familiar deflections - climate change, bureaucratic delays, vague leadership failures, and even “just nature.” But that’s not the full story. We spoke with dozens of residents - and their accounts echoed a haunting truth: the Palisades were left to burn, with little to no help. Paradise Abandoned lays bare the avoidable decisions and overlooked truths that turned a containable fire into a community crisis.
Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with the film’s director, Palisades local Rob Montz.
We hope you’ll join us for this important evening - and for a story that challenges the narrative and centers the truth.
Please feel free to invite your friends and RSVP to hailey@projectlac.org.
